Saint Columban College Grade School Chapel was blessed Monday, August 8, 2016 with the administration, department heads, alumni, and faculty and staff of grade school.
The chapel marks as the centerpiece of the school and helps to express the sacredness of the place.
Rev. Fr. Gilbert M. Hingone,STL addresses on his introductory remarks a significant need for strengthening spiritual formation of the students.
Ribbon cutting was then headed by the School President, Fr. Gilbert M. Hingone,STL, Sr. Ammie R. Adoremos,CB the Vice President for Spiritual Formation and were assisted by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Nora G. Agustero and the Vice President for Finance and Administration, Rev. Fr. Belstar O. Ediang.
Fr. Belstar blessed the Chapel, altar and sacred objects that will be used during Catholic Masses in the chapel. He described in his homily that this place is the loneliest place in the campus. “..but the loneliest place is the holiest place, and the holiest place is the most powerful place in the school.” he added.
Complementing the new chapel was the unveiling and blessing of the patron saint Mary Mediatrix of all Graces, 5 feet tall from the joint efforts of Gregorian Bel Canto Singers and Huni Kolumbano headed by Mr. Edwad Rey A. De Jesus and Mr. Ronilo Calunod Jr.
Fr. Belstar thanked the creative and watchful eyes of the people behind the realization of this chapel, the finance team, maintenance, alumni and employees who shared.
This wonderful and prayerful worship space will surely capture the SCCians and will allow one to enter into this place where sacredness is experienced.
