Brief History of the College of Business EducationThe Commerce Department which was established in 1963 was renamed to College of Business Education in 1992 per recommendation by the PAASCU. Mrs. Rita R. Gentiles was the dean of the college. When she retired in the same year, Mrs. Enalinda P. Lavilla took over the deanship. The four - storey building was constructed in that year for the program. Within that building are also the college library and the general science laboratory. The College takes constant pride of its flagship program, the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. Because of its consistent performance in the board examination, turning three or more passers every year, it is the only college in the city and province authorized to continue offering BS Accountancy. With its enhancement programs, the College will continue producing proficient CPA's who uphold moral integrity. Student - oriented training programs are conducted regularly at the Student Learning Center. It has been offering refresher course for accountancy, tutorials in accounting and general education subjects for the civil service eligibility examination. The College has a faculty equipped with effective teaching skills and competencies. Lawyers are hired to teach law subjects to meet CHED standard for faculty. The Accountancy students are also registered members of the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA).
