Msgr. Ediang presides over the Holy Spirit Mass

Vicar General of the Pagadian Diocese Monsignor Belstar O. Ediang, STL, presided over the Holy Spirit in the Santo Nino Cathedral from 7:00 to 12:00 on September 15, 2023. The first Mass was intended for the Junior High School and Elementary School, while the second was for the Senior High School and Colleges.

Saint Columban Family, as part of the culture and traditions, celebrated the Holy Spirit Mass to begin the Academic year 2023-2024, filled with zeal and enthusiasm. Termed Red Day in SCC, all the students and employees garbed in red clothes blazed like fire for the whole morning.

Msgr. Ediang highlighted the form of the Holy Spirit in his homily. He reminded the congregation to constantly and earnestly express the Holy Spirit through zeal, enthusiasm, compassion, devotion, and eagerness amidst life’s adversities. The journey must continue despite the challenges thrown in life. He continued in his inspiring homily that when the apostles were shaken by fear of death when they witnessed the death of Jesus on the cross, they closed their doors and locked themselves up. In times of fear and confusion, the Holy Spirit shed light on the weary hearts of the apostles and strengthened their faith. So, he encouraged every Columban to pray for the Holy Spirit to dwell in each of them to become steadfast in any trials in life.

After the post-communion, the employees took an oath of fidelity. They declared their commitment to serve Saint Columban with zeal and compassion, to faithfully assist the diocesan Bishop so that the apostolic activity exercised in the mandate of the Church is in communion with the Church.
