PCC, SCC JPIA chapters kickstart AWC ’26

The Saint Columban College – Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (SCC-JPIA) chapter banded together in the spirit of togetherness, friendship, and excellence as they commemorate their annual Accountancy Week Celebration (AWC) from July 13 to 17, bearing the theme, “Lifting the Filipino CPAs Toward Ethical Leadership and Global Excellence.”

The opening celebration started with a eucharistic mass at the Sto. Niño Cathedral, presided by Rev. Fr. Mike Cahanap, followed by a motorcade around the city streets featuring the SCC-JPIA community, professionals from the various Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) sectors, and the Pagadian Capitol College (PCC) chapter.

The SCC-JPIA also invited the SCC-SHS students from the Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) Track to celebrate the occasion.

It also featured a yell competition between the SCC, PCC, and SCC-SHS participants, as well as intermission numbers from the participating chapters and department and minigames at the Youth Development Center (YDC) Gym.

The activities promoted creativity, enthusiasm, and camaraderie, while also showing sportsmanship and teamwork among the JPIANs.

“Numbers tell the story of the past, but it is our values, ethics, and leadership that will shape the financial landscape of the future,” the PICPA Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur Chapter President Randi L. Revilla, CPA, said during his opening remarks.

This event marked the first day of celebrating the accountancy profession across the country, showing community and belonging between CPAs and aspiring professionals within the accounting field.
