Handumanan & Opening Program
SCC librarians, staff, educators, alumni, and students have gathered to mark the yearly Handumanan 2022 celebration, which will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, under the theme “Celebrating 65 Years of Walking Together of Providing Catholic Education.” They have viewed an exhibit and shared memories of the past with the Golden Jubilarians of 1972 and the Silver Jubilarians of 1997.
Mr. Rey Sagut, a 1997 Silver Jubilarian, shared some words of wisdom and led the audience on a nostalgic journey through the school’s long history of offering high-quality education. The SCCians will undoubtedly never forget their enduring memories of happiness and unification
Vocation Jamboree
Sister Maan Crisna Mapalo from the Sisters of Saint Paul de Chartres shared her insightful vocation talk, which unveiled the true meaning of vocation, as the jubilee in vocation jamboree bearing the theme, “Walking together in faithfulness to our vocation,” began to be attended by the single professionals who are third and fourth year students at Saint Columban College. The crowd was also given the opportunity to learn and be heard through an open forum that ignited their interests and clarified confusions.
An Afternoon with Tri-People
Saint Columban College held its Tri- People Forum, with the theme “Walking together in Faith and Solidarity,” which convened in the SCC Audio-Visual Room (AVR).
Reflecting back at the past, acknowledging it, and becoming an advocate of peacemaking and transforming. It was quite unique because rather than inviting individuals from different tribes, they made other ways such as opening the students’ eyes through casting a glimpse in the different historic periods.
Kinaiyahan Forum
The “Kinaiyahan Forum,” with the theme “Walking together in caring for the earth, our common home,” took place on November 16, 2022, with all Saint Columban College administrators and the unit heads gathered in the SCC quadrangle to witness it. The session proper began around 9:00 am with opening remarks by Dr. Mary Jane Omandam. The meeting provided the scc admins and the unit leaders with an opportunity to discuss issues that needed to be resolved for the SCC community while also igniting new conversations. A tree planting ceremony marked the program’s conclusion, and they also completed the commitment signing process.
Zumba
Saint Columban College organized Zumba at SCC Elementary under the leadership of Mr. Cyril Baconua in an effort to provide a way to a healthy exercise program for the school’s students, faculty, and staff, as well as SCC ROTC, CWTS, and medics. Everyone swings and beats rhythmically with one another while dancing gracefully. Then prizes were given out for the group with the highest participation, the best Zumba dancers, and the finest Zumba attire. Dr. Mary Jane Omandam, RGC, gave motivational remarks as the PASINGOT 2022 came to a close.
Adlaw Sa Banay
With the theme “Families Walking Together Towards a Common Mission,” Saint Columban College staff from elementary to high school celebrated the Adlaw sa Banay at Paloma Beach, Tukuran. The aforementioned event emphasized the need of keeping faith in God and making him the center of our lives in order to build a stronger foundation in families that will serve as a guide for us in completing the Common Mission.
Tikang Hinabang and Dalit Tagbo
Tikang Hinabang is an event that combines exercise and enjoyment, and on November 21, 2022, Tikang Hinabang returns after a pause caused by the pandemic, a stirring event that every SCCian looks forward to during Panagdait Festival. Students and employees, The session began with a Zumba warmup, which consisted of dancing and rocking to the beat of the music. The fun race began and ended at the SCC Elementary Grounds’ doors. The delight on the faces of the participants was visible as they walked their feet through the course to the finish line.
Procession of LLFC Patron Saints and Adlaw sa Matuohong Katilingban
After the LLFC Saints’ procession, there was an Adlaw sa Matuohong Katilingban. The SCC faculty, staff, and student grantees were each assigned to a certain office that represented a different Saint. For the purpose of exchanging insights and impressions, they assembled formally. They believed that the Holy Saints were the means of fortifying everyone’s pacts and would always be the answer to all issues. LLFC Saints were a post to sustain Saint Columban College as a united family in a world disguised by vulnerability.
